AWESOME, i officially love quentin dupieux, whom obviously is obsessed by the concepts of unfairness and randomness. the killer rubber tire was incredibly alive and the plot never loosened up. and it'd very, very funny!
Gommeux, original, innovant. Non-sens & humour potache entre Pr CHORON & Monty Python. Votre durée de vision sera 1 bon test de votre jeunesse d'esprit. Quentin, 1 vrai fêlé du cinéma. Bande son cool & efficace.=== Gummy shelter. How long will you watch this movie is a good measure of your youth of spirit. Nonsense & schoolboy humor but innovative. Cool & efficient music score. Quentin, undoubtedly a true film freak.
I'm eternally divided on this one. I admire it for being creative, innovative, unique, and delightfully absurdist (I can see Dupieux becoming a natural at strange filmmaking), but ultimately, it is so cheeky and full of itself in some places. It's very impressed with itself became it came up with this "no reason" idea. Still, it's plenty concise and uses its creativity to the maximum. Can't knock a film for that.
Perhaps I wasn't in the mood... but I had wanted to see this for a very long time and, frankly, I was a little disappointed. The story itself was dark, but extremely comical. Absurdity galore. The pace was a little slow, leading to some dullness - monotony, even. While that may have been the purpose, it was troublesome for me. All in the all, the practicality of it all was fantastic. Loved the presentation.
Brilliant and unique. Fans of absurdist theater should love this. It has a few flaws and has trouble letting go toward the end, but the flaws are very minor and overwhelmed by everything that's just right. I guarantee you've never seen anything like it.
In a way, this film is incredible, because with a concept that stupid (killing tyre) Dupieux succeeds in bringing a surreal, hilarious, and crazy "plot" (the word here is a paradox), playing with the rules of cinema. It's one of the weirdest films I've seen, but it's definitely worth watching.
