Napoleon arrives in Bayonne and manages to attract the Spanish royal family to him. He called his brother José Bonaparte, popularly known as Pepe Botella, to occupy the throne of Spain, but the Spanish people did not accept the new king and took up arms against the invader on May 2, 1808.
