you just know from the beginning that the movie will be as depressing at the end just like at the beginning. Zooey Deschanel as a depressed weirdo is cute as ever, Jake Gyllenhaal has the ability to be dreamy even as a weird psycho loner kid and Jennifer Aniston was actually really good. This movie wants to be depressing and on that note it is really good.
It is not great, it is not horrible. It is OK. Aniston and Deschanel give it a charming 'je ne sais quoi' and save it. This film could've been a career change for Aniston, if only it was a little more engaging and a tad happier.
