1815: Jacquou is a 9 year old boy whose father, sharecropper of the count of Nansac, is condemned for murder. Deported to the penal colony, he is killed for having tried to escape. After the death of Jacquou’s mother, the orphan is taken in and educated by the parish priest & vows to take revenge.
