Paul is a 12-year-old boy who lives with his mother, a nurse at a psychiatric institute in the middle of a forest. After meeting troubled patient Gloria there, he becomes infatuated and convinced the doctors are holding her hostage. The two escape and wreak havoc across the French countryside.
