The film is set in 1915 and begins with the recruitment of workers for the yerbal in Posadas, using deception to seduce and indebted to mensu. On the boat trip to the yerbatales the mensu and sympathetic doctor’s daughter, raising the jealousy of the gunman, who come physically punishing the worker.
