In the bullring of Las Ventas four parallel stories are shown in the film: the senior bullfighter Ricardo Puente has issues with lover Paloma; the winner of the day, Juan Carmona is distracted with the notice of a new baby while Rondeño II is distracted by a wedding, and an amateur enters the ring.
