A rather dour and bloodless riff on an actual occurrence that may appeal to connoisseurs of Proust impersonations - surely a wide market - but lacks the author's usual flair for exposing bigger issues through the small or mundane. Nevertheless it's performed with austere conviction despite leading back to the front door from whence we came.
