Set in the sprawling marketplace of Asunción, this Paraguayan caper film is brimming with energy. The titular seven boxes serve as an inspired MacGuffin in Juan Carlos Maneglia and Tana Schembori’s riveting feature debut, a vividly inhabited crime story with a fiercely controlled knack for tension.
