These guys sure had wonderful intentions and obviously had something to say, but the over dramatic overtones sucked most of it away. What could've been a poignant dramedy turned out to be half a movie with a lot of heart but not much else. Thank god for Rebecca Hall.
It was the indie edge to this film that initially attracted me to wanting to sit down and watch it, but upon sitting down, I embarked on a journey with these characters that, from beginning to end, had me hooked. I loved the interplay between characters Ben and Alan, but their connection with 12-year-old Kelsey won my heart ten times over. Solid script, mature and developed story and plot, and fiery, concise acting.
