  1. Adam Whybray's rating of the film A Ballad About Green Wood

It has a quivering vitalist pulse to it quite unlike any other I've seen on film. Barta worships at the alter of natural time and its cyclical rhythms then sardonically shows how humans (literally in the case of tree rings!!) take an axe to these rhythms in their brutal establishment of linear, ordered time. The only film I have yet seen that contains an animist point-of-view shot from a splint of wood.

  2. Ghostman's rating of the film A Ballad About Green Wood

Trippy as hell. Very Pagan, very adorable. I never thought I would be moved by a piece of wood.

  3. εξώτερο Διάστημα's rating of the film A Ballad About Green Wood

u need the genius of Barta to make such a macabre and enchanting fairytale using slightly more than nothing.
