It's 1983 and the Golden Age of gialli is over. Even so, Lamberto Bava, Dario Argento and a few others were struggling to keep the genre alive. Is A Blade in the Dark a milestone of the genre? No, of course but the movie is enjoyable even if we guess very soon who's the serial killer. Nonetheless, the last scene should stayed in the comment's book of the genre. Recommended.
A pretty good bloody giallo from lamberto bava. One almost forgets just how violent these pics were in the eighties. Some memorable horror scenes not really affected by the horrible plot, the wooden acting or the homophobic leanings of the writer in presenting yet another transvestite killer. Good of its kind though.
