A Film with Me in It

Directed by Ian Fitzgibbon
Ireland, 2008
Comedy, Thriller

In this deliciously inky Irish import, routinely out-of-work actor Mark and his boozy neighbor, Pearce — a would-be scriptwriter — get sucked into a labyrinth of duplicity and murder after a string of random and grisly accidents.

  • Dada Kubin's rating of the film A Film with Me in It

The film is described as a dark comedy and it has Dylan Moran – my favourite stand-up comedian – starring, so I expected it to be a funny film. It’s not. It’s told in quite an earnest way, even the visuals are very un-comedy-like. But dark it was, and the macabre moments when everybody just starts dying were somehow “fun”, although I did not laugh. Let’s say I went into this film with the wrong foot.
