Ratings & Reviews

  1. C's rating of the film A Kiss Before Dying

Creepy and lurid, beautiful color. Ira Levin really understands the horror of men's manipulations, arrogance, and solipsism.

  2. José Neves's rating of the film A Kiss Before Dying

Cinematography by Lucien Ballard. "Desire" list. Beside Clift in "A Place in the Sun", where he and Taylor were at their peak of beauty, Robert Wagner in this film is the the perfect and proper image of an insane and excessive ambition, causing the death of a victim on the way to his social climbing. A beautiful image, it must be added. And also Joanne Woodward's "poesia".

  3. Sandy Connell's rating of the film A Kiss Before Dying

At one point Robert Wagner stands up form a restaurant table, lights a cigarette, has just one puff, then drops it on the floor and stubs it as he walks out. Seriously, who the hell does that? Ever? And what about the poor restauranteur's carpet? BOO to Robert Wagner! BOOOOOO!!!

  4. Ingrid Bergman's rating of the film A Kiss Before Dying

Finally got to see the original and I thought it was somewhat better than the remake with Matt Dillon and Sean Young. Mary Astor shines here as Mrs Corliss.
