Ratings & Reviews

  1. ZYNAB's rating of the film A Life at Stake

one of the stranger late noirs that take their basic story from double indemnity! the twist is, this time it's the lover that's going to be killed. angela lansbury as a femme fatale may not be to everyone's taste, but if you've seen her in gaslight & the harvey girls, you know she can be VERY sexy. this film has a lot of issues in a lot of places but there's just something about it...i won't be forgetting it soon.

  2. 5000yearoldbogmummy//Rhett's rating of the film A Life at Stake

A somewhat convoluted late-era noir about, what else, money and sex. Lansbury offers us a strong, restrained performance, and Andes' character Edward, though a bit typical, exudes swagger. All in all? Just fine.
