Richmond Hill's rating of the film A Question of Attribution

A worthy companion-piece to the earlier An Englishman Abroad with a well rounded script from Bennett infused with a wry kindness, if not compassion, for its snootily foolish central character. Only the revelatory art analogy of fakery is a tad heavy handed. Schlesinger is well suited to the intimate with some of his Hollywood forays seeming rudderless when compared against his more measured British work.
