  8. ASHES IN THE HOURGLASS's rating of the film A Report on the Party and Guests

What's more boring than a ham-fisted allegory about the social and sexual politics of any country? The answer is off course nothing. The filmmaking redefines banality and all the actors just ham everything up to 11. Message to all artists: just because you're work is about something as all encompassing as politics, that doesn't mean you can be lazy and create something so barebones with zero subtext to it.

  10. Abhirup's rating of the film A Report on the Party and Guests

    Deliriously Kafkaesque.

  11. Chuck Williamson's rating of the film A Report on the Party and Guests

Disquieting and darkly comic. An absurdist romp through the enchanted forest where the external threat of stepmothers and witches can't hold a candle to the hideous monsters bred from docility and uncritical allegiance to the ruling "party."
