  • SpacePirate's rating of the film A Southern Yankee

One of Red Skeltons best comedies. This one is def Keaton-esque and Buster even helped with some of the gags it seems. The story itself about spies during the civil war had been mined to death for comedy by this point (see some Three Stooges shorts like Uncivil Warriors), but somehow it still feels fresh today, thanks in large part to Skelton's rubber face and knack for coming off as 5 diff comics rolled in 1.
