  1. SpacePirate's rating of the film A Thousand Clowns

One of those forgottem gems. Cool New Wave inspired photography and editing. Robards is excellent as usual and Harris shines in her debut. I feel a kinship to the Robards character, for after working 10 hr days for 3 years straight with no days off, I am basically burned out and no longer give a fuck and just want to have fun. His modus operandi here. Great fun. 4.5 stars

  2. Wee Hunk's rating of the film A Thousand Clowns

I remember thinking at the time that life is a trap. It's filled with obligations, and that I had no inherent desire to work, nor even the slightest clue what to do. Part of the problem is that movies tend to portray a 9-5 working life as the death of the soul. That's because all the people from the writers to the actors wouldn't understand how to enjoy it.

  3. Blumes's rating of the film A Thousand Clowns

Still feels like theater simply plastered on celluloid - but that doesn't mean it's not wonderfully charming, well acted, and a solid document of 60's NY.
