Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film A Warning to the Curious

Less is most definitely more. A creepy and atmospheric miniature, capturing the latent violence that exists under the serene English landscape.

  2. L.F.G.'s rating of the film A Warning to the Curious

archeological horror. cf. Born of Fire

  3. Log Lady's rating of the film A Warning to the Curious

A decent adaptation of the wonderful ghost story by M. R. James. Getting rid of the multi-layered narrative makes sense, but adding Dr. Black is unnecessary and contrived, not to mention that the guardian doesn't seem at all mysterious. What puts this above the usual TV movie oeuvre is the camera work that heightens the creepy atmosphere. The scene in the dark room is especially memorable.
