  1. Sara-D's rating of the film A Woman's Face

  2. Diderot's rating of the film A Woman's Face

One of the very best Joan Crawford films. I'd rank it with her work for Curtiz and Ray. I love the whole beautiful ridiculousness of it.

  3. El Biffo's rating of the film A Woman's Face

The original 1938 Swedish film starring Ingrid Bergman in the Crawford role is also very good. Although the whole "good triumphs over evil" thing is so Mid-Century Hollywood. In real life the greatest evil triumphs.

  4. FISCHER's rating of the film A Woman's Face

Un film moyen dans l'oeuvre fascinante de George Cukor, malgré une composition remarquable de Joan Crawford enlaidie, puis rayonnante de beauté après une opération de chirurgie esthétique. Une mention spéciale au petit Richard Nichols...

  5. SpacePirate's rating of the film A Woman's Face

Crawford shines, in one of her more complex characters she portrayed. This and Mildred Pierce are some of her finest work. Cukor delivers another gem. I especially liked the interplay between Douglas, Veidt, and Crawford. Some very interesting moments in this film, and the on location shooting at the falls covered with snow really underscores the icy hearts of some of the characters here. A solid 4 star film

  6. Howard Fritzson's rating of the film A Woman's Face

I don't like Joan Crawford but sometimes she was a useful pawn for her director. I am thinking of Nicholas Ray with "Johnny Guitar" or Otto Preminger with "Daisy Kenyon," for example. They figured out how to exploit her. George Cukor was probably the first. This film shows his awareness.

  7. Acerk21's rating of the film A Woman's Face

Next to Mildred Pierce, this is probably one of Crawford’s best performances. It’s definitely the most complex role ever given to her and she plays it brilliantly.
