  1. Bonnet Michel's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

  2. dionysus67's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

Brimming with spontaneity, this nouvelle vague specimen is based on improvisations and non-professional cast; it makes its point about the juxtaposition between life and war (as the hero is drafted to fight in the Algerian front) freed from moralizing. It mocks cinema itself and defers romanticism to infinity as it celebrates the occasion of a ménage à trois with a gentle formalism and beautiful landscape scenes.

  3. Mimic Hootings's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

Wonderfully relaxed, charming and loveable. What a pity Rozier's career petered out.

  4. josé neves's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

35mm. Indie Lisboa # 1. How is it that a 56-year-old film is as fresh and new as it should have been on its opening? How is it that such improvisation, full of sudden movements, intuitive travellings, light and pop music all the time, and so much lightness, can still captivate us as if all that was being created at this moment, before our eyes and ears, and not then? The most beautiful european film of the 60s?

  5. Diderot's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

A reminder that it's not enough to have the stylistics of the "French New Wave"-- even those can be lifeless if the story and characters have no feeling.

  6. Victor Morosoff's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

  7. FISCHER's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

Une petite histoire racontée avec un grand souci d'authenticité, de spontanéité et de vivacité. Premier long métrage de Jacques Rozier où le charme et la gaité se partagent allègrement l'écran en toute jeunesse et sympathie... www.cinefiches.com

  8. cinegeek.de's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

  9. Raymond Likes Subtitles's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

  10. sus's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

It would be good to watch the film if the mubi hadn't switched to this new idiotic streaming system.

  11. Anton Williams's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

  12. Santropez's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

I liked the group in this film much more than the one on Jules et Jim. Perhaps because there are two women involved here and not only one.

  13. Mathieu Boucher's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

"Je considère ces danses brutales comme l’expression parfaite de la sécheresse de cœur de la jeunesse actuelle. "

  14. diana's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

nouvelle vague: never surprising but always childish.

  15. Andy Oettl's rating of the film Adieu Philippine

An important if little known Nouvelle Vague film. The youthful spirit of the story about a young man, his two female companions and his last summer of freedom embodies the movement perfectly.
