  2. Bonnet Michel's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

  3. Lorna Singh's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

A rare misstep from the great Ken Loach. No doubt, the script was interesting but the mistake was casting the 2 leads. Absolutely no chemistry between them.

  4. Jessica Braz's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

    Sweet film about inter-racial romance.

  5. Layla La Fleur's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Deep, and still sadly contemporarily relevant ten years later.

  6. janh24's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Unfortunately not one of Loach's more memorable efforts. The film broaches some important ideas, but the result is a rudimentary, tv-style melodrama.

  7. raggiodisole's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Amor vincit omnia? Nae likely pal! It did feel a little undercooked, and there was hardly a resolution, but it did give you a reminder that not all cultural divisions can be overcome

  8. Babak Jani's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

For sure Loach is a great director but this film!!! I couldnt find any attachment with the character and their cultural experiences. Hence I can understand both backgrounds as Loach give us enough information but I don't feel them. Simply it didn't evoke my emotions. I guess 2 stars is fair though I could give one comparing this with other films he made.

  9. GreenROCK's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Ordinary storyline with a predictable ending but still it is a lovely film, excellent acting.

  10. Charlie Troup's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Abandoned after 40 minutes. Dull and predictable, with the main characters falling in love with minimal development. A poor man's 'East is East'

  11. Davey B's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Brave and thought provoking attempt at describing cross-cultural and religious relations.

  12. SiIencio's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Typically devoid of any flair, Loach's film is a tapestry of modern multiculturalism and the effects of clashes between cultures. Fair to say that the British Pakistani community bears most of the flak here but credit to Loach for what it seems a fairly dispassionate take on universal cross-culture issues, bigotry and personal freedom. Film splashed with powerful scenes along with a more or less pedestrian plot.

  14. Erika Jane's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

I like this film, despite some of the acting being a bit cringe-able.

  15. j's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Dull and Predictable love story, weak acting at times from the main characters. Didn't really feel any warmth towards them. Gratuitous and out of place sex scenes. Disappointing Loach.

  16. lockworm's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

A more realistic version of East is East. Culturally spot on !

  17. Suzy Lane's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

makes us feel deeply for the characters on both sides, even when they're wrong. This separates it from all the many others attempting the love story against all odds (parental disapproval).

  18. anwoody's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Not particularly hard-hitting, but an enjoyable love story for Saturday afternoon.

  19. Penelope q's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Beautifully romantic, Romeo and Juliet XXI century.

  20. Ezuzuzu's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

Both West have stereotypes of East and East have stereotypes of West. I think Ken Loach points out that problem in a very sophisticated and cinematic way.

  21. Sancar Seckiner's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

  22. felixvandenesse's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

a typical ken loach film and a great instance about his perspective upon the life. no exaggeration but full of feelings and sensitivity.

  23. mrs-amigdala's rating of the film Ae Fond Kiss...

tender portrait of an eternal issue, from kukuxlan to romeo and juliet
