What are people saying?

  • Sarah J.B.'s rating of the film After Louie

~2.5-3. Alan Cumming! You can feel the inspiration behind both the narrative and technical form of the film, but it's because both are quite blatant; it's lacking all subtlety and its nuances are haphazard. Weak dialogue and mediocre supporting actors (particularly Booth, but save for Breen) leave it too difficult to take very seriously. But we must, as it reminds us over and over: AIDS remains "a big deal." Somber.
