Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film Afternoon Off

An amusingly scripted attack on racial and cultural prejudice that wears its steel lightly. Being Bennett, the exposition is the thing with an expected gallery of gossiping shop workers, snobbish middle classes and dourly knowing workmen. The expected denouement is made sadder by the passive quality of Man's performance, like a canvas upon which all other characters heap disdain, suspicion or weary dismissal.
