Ratings & Reviews

  1. Wee Hunk's rating of the film All the Vermeers in New York

Was a time when you could actually just walk into a gallery and look at the Vermeers. I became aware of Vermeer with the movie 'A Zed and Two Noughts'. This came about 5 years later. Saw it on PBS and loved it.

  2. Ebru Yörükoğlu's rating of the film All the Vermeers in New York

more like eric rohmer lost his way in new york..2,5

  3. chris naughton's rating of the film All the Vermeers in New York

Jon Jost's largest budget and probably most widely-released film. Originally intended to have Tom Noonan in the lead role. The carries a strange sleepwalking feel throughout - possibly intentional. The camera seemed to me a real presence in the film, gjost-like and hovering. I prefer other Jost films but still unique and engaging film.

  4. machine_elves's rating of the film All the Vermeers in New York

my first exposure to jon jost. this is a hauntingly dreamy and hypnotic film that floats back and forth between more conventional narrative-type scenes and dialogue to long, sparse scenes often consisting of very long single takes.
