You'd think a movie about an unthinkable assassination would be less predictable and generic. Jamie Dornan continues to prove he's a one-note tune, Cillian's trying his best but there's not much to work with. An arduous two hours when you know exactly what's coming around every corner.
Well-shot war thriller about an interesting subject, but unfortunately the movie overall is as stale as they come. The characters and script are particularly cookie-cutter, and moving moments are only moving for their basic shock value (innocents bloodied, heroes tortured, loved ones forced to watch, etc). Shame, as I'm sure the headline actors could have handled something a bit more complex.
A remake of an original Czech war film made in 1968, this film follows the true story of how two Czech agents were air dropped into Nevizdy near Prague in 1941 and took on an enormous challenge with horrifying reprisals from the Nazi occupation during the Second World War. Fine performances from Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan and a tough and gripping movie.
