Seen nearly 65 years after its production: Lancaster and Peters in Apache disguise are hard to swallow. As for the rest: great film with many memorable scenes - Lancaster walking through the town observing white people´s civilized life a highlight.
Aldrich's fascination for the Apache warrior. Crude and raw realist Indian western, as opposed to John Ford's epic of the West. You just have to get used to Burt Lancaster as a blue-eyed Indian, which is actually pretty tough.
