Our take

Serbian auteur Emir Kusturica’s only American film is a surreal, unhinged deconstruction of the American dream. A ’90s postmodern classic steeped in cinematic references (starring Faye Dunaway, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Depp & Vincent Gallo), it delights in the absurdity of grand, unfulfilled ambitions.
