What are people saying?

  • Dada Kubin's rating of the film Armi Alive!

Donner was 82 when he directed this film, and I guess that’s the age you need nowadays in Finland to break the mould that is cast over Finnish movies. “Armi” is meta-storytelling, it questions its own starting point and aim, the truth in a biographical movie. It gets trapped in its theatricality, but at least Donner is trying to bring together form and content in a special way.
