  3. msmichel's rating of the film Arthur

Such a pale imitation of the 1981 orginal. Gerwig and Mirren are both fine here but Brand is certainly no Dudley Moore. If one could watch without any memory of the orginal it might be a pleasant enough timefiller but alas instead just feels like a misfire on so many levels. Whatever happened to the Jennifer Garner that was a likable screen presence?

  4. subtonal's rating of the film Arthur

I thought this was a hilarious movie! One of the funniest I've seen!

  6. Effendi Ben Smith-Malick's rating of the film Arthur

Not enough boobs. Also, too much Jennifer Garner. And not enough boobs.

  7. Kespo's rating of the film Arthur

It's like watching the original Arthur but without the constant desire to strangle Dudley Moore to get him to shut up.

  8. ΞRIC B∆D TASTΞ's rating of the film Arthur

i don't know the original, but this one wasn't so good - it was okey, with some funny things. the hidden phone at the subway was pretty cool, i'm wondering if it really works...

  9. Christian R.'s rating of the film Arthur

can never be as good as the original...

  10. AKFilmFan's rating of the film Arthur

A slightly funny update that doesn't improve on the original, but Brand makes the best of it.

  11. Nutter Jr's rating of the film Arthur

A once mediocre movie starring Dudley Moore now seems rather exciting compared to this lifeless, pointless remake which has nothing to offer apart from a handful of quirky moments linked with obscene wealth (like having Hollyfield as your personal boxing trainer, etc).

  12. Roger Da Silva João's rating of the film Arthur

well, it's an update to the original.

  13. Elliot Kern's rating of the film Arthur

Watched this on an airplane to San Francisco. Not good, but can't say the original was any better. I at least laughed twice this time. Two stars!!!

  14. Steve's rating of the film Arthur

Entertaining enough but overall sort of pointless film

  15. FailedImitator's rating of the film Arthur

The end was shit, everything else was mediocre, but I had one good laugh.

  16. Caden Cotard's rating of the film Arthur

Starts (very) well, but it has a saggy middle and a sappy end. Only Russell Brand's magnetic energy, as well as his awesome chemistry with both Helen Mirren and indie darling Greta Gerwig, who, after this and No Strings Attached, needs her own damn romcom.

  17. A.J. Hakari's rating of the film Arthur

The sort of film that takes an aged story and tells it its own way. A pleasant surprise that doesn't look down on the audience and maintains a snarky/sweet disposition.

  18. Matthew_Lucas's rating of the film Arthur

This tale of a spoiled rich man-child is essentially a one joke comedy, buoyed by likable performances from solid comic cast. Its final attempt at seriousness rings false.
