Oh God, Dolan have a new follower. An american-grunge version of "Les Amours Imaginaires", less hysterical but full of music and slow motions. I've seen another terrible reference to "Last Days" of Gus Van Saint, but just a simple pastiche in woods an nothing more.
Get used to pronouncing: Miles Joris-Peryrafitte. The 23 year old skateboarding inspiration may be the next Xavier Dolan. The film grabbed me from the first frame and didn't let go. Like Dolan, Peryrafitte applies aspects ratios brilliantly, shooting an anamoric film and placing it within a 1.85 frame, mirroring how his characters don't fit in their worlds. The ending is ambiguous for ambiguous sake. Still wonderful.
