Strikingly beautiful at some points, but it's surprisingly brutal and misogynistic, even more than I was expecting with the title/subject. It has a complete non-ending, and is both a little too short and a little too long somehow, but it's probably worth a watch for genre fans.
What starts off as a oddball love and murder story (all to the tune of a Burt Bacharach inspired easy listening soundtrack), quickly descends into something more nasty. A shame, I really thought it was going to surprise me. Great soundtrack though.
This film may be 'Pinku' by definition but it has greater ambition to be a Real Film. By today's standards it's more of a horror comedy or a giallo. Truth be told, yes, it is incredibly misogynistic, and taken with the horrors of the world I`m not convinced it should exist. But comparisons to films like Natural Born Killers are undeniable. There is an element of actual 'grossness' not found in a typical pinku film.
