A selfish, insecure young professional* (*copied her ex's career), ruins the life of a humble, happy go lucky blind man because she likes that he's all *sensitive* and shit, possibly just to make her ex jealous. In the midst of this tragi-comic woman-porn, Val manages to put forth the existential weight of reassessing your place in the world in a scene in which he bumps into his own reflection in a hospital mirror.
This film belongs to a Hollywood sub-gender : clinical and laboratory tests that go wrong. In the land of congenital happy endings, this is a refreshing genre. Even if I 'm not convinced by the movie as a whole, I must say that some scenes of At First Sight are worth a look if you're a movie lover: the visual descriptions of Virgil's sensations are for example superb. Recommended.
