Ratings & Reviews

  1. Skinnedteen's rating of the film Awol

This isn't just a typical lesbian film. Its poignant exploration of first love allows us to root for a doomed, delusional relationship and experiencing Joey's vulnerability. Powerful film!

  2. Sarah Fonseca's rating of the film Awol

AWOL's slow start is such a tease, lulling viewers into a false sense of certainty, "Oh, another one of those predictable gay movies." But as AWOL unfurls, you realize that it's anything but. Groundbreaking commentary on class. Legit characters. Idgie Threadgoode has been resurrected, ya'll. Nice use of space––in both framing & acting (so much intimacy). Lola's acting + Karolina's smart-ass words + Deb's lens = A++
