The first time filmmakers Emily (director) and Elizabeth Dell (producer) saw an all-girl break-dance crew perform, they were mesmerized — and they wanted to see more. Thus was born this film about a girl break-dancer immersed in the hip-hop scene.

I've never understood the compulsion to create terrible, contrived plots or character arcs for what are essentially showcase vehicles for people with talents outside the world of cinema. Of course, it's great to see Lady Jules given the spotlight, but who said her breaking had to be framed in "Save the Last Dance"? Why not a sci-fi comedy? A horror movie with dancing? Or *gasp* a proper dance movie about Lady Jules?
