30 hand picked films. A new one every day
Berlin: There is Blixa Bargeld, skinny as a rake, getting people drunk in the bar ‘Risiko’, and an earnest-looking Nick Cave collecting ‘German Gothic’ on a wall of his room in a Berlin flat.
2015 | Winner: Heiner Carow Prize
good footage but the narrator sucked ass, would not be surprised if everyone he filmed hated him. also his band fucking sucked. some holden caulfield stazi uniform bullshit.
Cool documentary about great music, the problem is that it covers a long period and lots of bands. Could be better with less talk and more performances.
A pleasure to watch and listen if you love this period and know at least half of artists. Otherwise it will turn into namedropping flood complicated with British accent. Documentary footage is well-assembled and probably stylized in some parts.
Quite uneven and it seems like it's been made more for the people who want to relive that period, than for those who want to find out about it.
A little bit too much in terms of glamour for me, but anyway it's a good document of those days.
Great raw footage, but the narrator was waaay too in love w/ himself and his own view of the world, just like a teenager
young blixa bargeld & malaria! are adorable as fuck
The documentary of the year! Perfectly captured Berlin essence and the vibrant personality of Mark Reeder.
