What are people saying?

  • José Neves's rating of the film Bachelor's Affairs

35mm. At 32, before the Hays code, a lot of water could run right up to the mill and flood the viewers- metaphorically, of course. This film is an example: despite the quality of the dialogues, no subtlety or ellipsis, a la Lubitsch or Wilder, but the frank sexual abyss between the old and the new. Despite an extremely motivating start and some high comedy moments, the overall pace is a bit loose, like Menjou's knee.
