ok, ok, it's still just Batman The Animated Series and maybe not Nolan's films. But in terms of strong female characters a lot of media products could learn from this. Sure, all the good guys are beautiful and some camera angles are leaning towards sexploitation, still, they are sailing around the worst tropes and thinking that it's just Batman, that's pretty cool.
This film is considered in-continuity but you could make a stronger argument that it's not, which is just one of its failings. Flat and overly digital-looking animation, a much too relaxed and jazz-y score, and an uncharacteristically light-hearted Bruce Wayne are some of my other issues with this time-waster. Sure, it sets up the Bruce/Barbara romance but without Paul Dini or Alan Burnett scripting, who cares?
