Some said it matched the fun and comedy of "Amélie". What? Not even close! But maybe I guess I'm just watching this from the wrong era. But it did manage to make laugh, though the formula felt generic to Hollywood rom-coms from the early 2000s. It could have had a better script, and Audrey Tautou might have had overdone it. Point is, "Amélie" is smart and horrendously funny even when you watch it today.
