I was a bit reticent about the monster being a bird but Herz makes it work wonderfully. His gloomy approach of the tale is impecable as it translates in the environment. The image is perfect, as well as the music. Highly recomended.
Herz makes such beautiful movies! And this is so raw and bleak compared to other versions. Didn't expect that hunting scene. Also, gorgeous opening credits!
Has anyone even seen this film?!? Is it good? Is it amazing? The screenshot says YES.
I sacrilegiously prefer it to Jean Cocteau's version. So yeah, that good :)
There are some nods to Cocteau but this is far darker. Gothic even.
Beautifully gloomy, just as the screenshot suggested.
