Not much of note here in a routine tale of two friends living in a dead end town being drawn into smuggling while trying to perhaps raise enough money to leave town. Sound familiar? One can see the documentary background the filmmakers have in the images captured its just that the film never really emerges from cliché. Performances vary in quality with both young leads failing to engage.
Not a new story, but with decent writing, documentarian-esque directing, and very authentic performances, it really comes alive. The ending is pretty devastating, but captures how life often works out, as tragic as it may be.
