  5. Marc St-Cyr (Death cinéphilia)'s rating of the film Benilde or the Virgin Mother

I still don't know what to think about it... a kind of soap-melo-drama with a boring script but a good sense of dark atmosphere and claustrophobia (thanks the creepy soundtrack).

In Vale Abraão, a cat is a ballistic glove thrown onto spectators while in Benilde the viewer’s got to sober up, identify

  10. Igor Ramos's rating of the film Benilde or the Virgin Mother

Claustrophobic in its environment, I wish we could have had a greater insight into de house itself, and how it isolated Benilde from the world, instead of spending so much time always looking at the characters' faces. While the script is good, I think it had a visual potencial that wasn't explored. The dichotomy between science and religion, the laws of men and the laws of God is interesting thought.
