Ratings & Reviews

  1. Log Lady's rating of the film Beware, My Lovely

Despite a few good moments (the last few minutes wherein Ryan's figure is seen approaching on the surface of a Christmas decoration, Ryan's and Lupino's convincing performances as a dangerous handyman and as a scared widow respectively etc.), there's very little tension and very little reason to recommend this over, let's say, On Dangerous Ground that gives Ryan and Lupino enough room and material to shine.

  2. Aardsy's rating of the film Beware, My Lovely

  3. mjgildea's rating of the film Beware, My Lovely

For the most part, Beware, My Lovely is very claustrophobic (based on a play as I understand) & sometimes annoyingly painful because of Robert Ryan's (admittedly great) performance. The short running time is the light at the end of the tunnel that gets you through when you feel like you can't take anymore but the resolution from the final 10 minutes completely makes the movie.

  4. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Beware, My Lovely

Recommended because of Robert Ryan’s great performance as a psychopath locking Ida Lupino in her own house. A film to rediscover.
