Ratings & Reviews

  1. Myles's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

Downer of a documentary about a hard-to-handle talent who squandered it all because he didn't know better.

  2. Thomas Dods's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

Ginger Baker is a horrible person. And an idiot. This is a very interesting documentary about him, with the highlight being when he breaks the interviewers nose.

  3. Adnan's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

  4. Thomas's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

Disappointing, considering its potential and the subject in question. Mostly reconstituted interviews and potted history (not much new for fans) but some touching insights from son Kofi and some spectacularly entertaining animations.

  5. La Schiff's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

i guess if your music is good you can get away with being an ass. the documentary makes him out to be a cartoon character, could've done without the animation and plucky voiceovers. interesting nonetheless.

  6. IV NEVER BEEN TO A RODEO's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

listen up and i will tell a story of a artist growing old he's not going for fame and glory

  7. Endless Eye's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

"Do what you like. If you enjoy doing something and you do it very well, you should be successful and enjoy life. I like playing the drums." - Ginger Baker

  8. msmichel's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

Enthralling and fascinating documentary looking at the drummer, polo player and certifiable madman Ginger Baker. A wealth of archival footage with great stories and tributes not only about Cream and Blind Faith but of Femi Kuti, Airforce and his steady decline in terms of success. Baker has always been his own worst enemy but what an intriguing individual he is. Some rock music bios soar...this is one of them.

  9. Henrique Amud's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

It almost feels like exploitation, but it is in fact just a very good document of a mad man and his wonderful talent/despicable behavior.

  10. mpho3's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

Film Threat aptly describes this as a "dense tapestry [woven of] personal pathos and dream-like animation," not to mention great music, and some audience chuckles tempered by raised eyebrows and a few shudders of disbelief. Beware of Mr. Baker indeed!

  11. Brenan6's rating of the film Beware of Mr. Baker

One of the best music documentaries I've seen.
