Low budget but entertaining sci-fi tale from director Ulmer that overcomes its budgetary restraints and tells a pretty good twilight zone like tale. The time period trappings of 'nuclear fear' fuel the cautionary tale told and the camp aspects don't overwhelm the genre feel. Well worth seeking out.
Edgar Ulmer - man out of time. He couldn't convince anyone that he had valuable information, real talent. Who hasn't wanted to launch forward into a time when we think we'll be understood. The tragedy: he suspected that even if he could get there, they wouldn't have given him bigger budgets and better scripts. All he could do was hope for the best as he grew older in the blink of an eye.
