Our take

Just as its title indicates, Black Moon is Louis Malle’s UFO: an experimental object with touches of Freud, Buñuel and Carroll. Set in the near future, this surrealist, psychosexual fairy tale hints to the women’s liberation movement, and counts the legendary Sven Nykvist as cinematographer!
