  1. Kuja's rating of the film Black Robe

Amerindian people against catechization! What also strikes me was their astonishment at the magic of grammatization technology...

  2. Cinema Omnivore's rating of the film Black Robe

7.3/10, "A grand epic toning down the unsavory side of westernized colonization, and lets a humane spirit take the wheel in the choppy flux of a religious journey." my full review -

  3. Kornovska's rating of the film Black Robe

  4. Howard Phillips's rating of the film Black Robe

Wonderful movie, based on notes and research complied by Graham Green, beautifully directed.

  5. Dave's rating of the film Black Robe

Feels like a grimmer, more realistic version of something like The Mission. The snow setting is beautiful and unforgiving. A very underrated film.

  6. Dzimas's rating of the film Black Robe

I really liked this movie. It was kind of the Canadian version of The Mission, with what I thought was a very realistic sense of what the wilderness would have been like at the time. Bluteau was excellent as Father Laforgue, as he was in the contemporary Jesus of Montreal.
