BLOODY MILK

Pierre is a dedicated dairy farmer whose worst fears are realized when one of his cows contracts a Mad Cow-like disease. If reported, there will be one outcome: the slaughter of the entire herd. Rather than lose his livelihood, Pierre makes the risky decision to take matters into his own hands.

Inspired by a childhood spent on dairy farms, Hubert Charuel’s delicate character study pits the solitude of rural life against the intimate bond developed between human beings and animals. Steeped in blood, sweat, and tears, the love that nurtures the pastoral land can also spiral into obsession.
