Plot is bare bones, and there a few too many numbers for its own good, but you get Astaire's Puttin On The Ritz routine, which is arguable his best work outside of his Mr. Bojangles number in Swing Time. One and a half stars added for this sequence alone. Rest of the film is ho-hum with nice but ultimately forgettable songs, besides White Christmas.
